M17A1 KELLEY TRANSITIONAL HELMET: the helmet worn after WW1 until 1943, when enough of the new M1 helmet finally became available. Even then some were still in limited use and being worn in 1945 when the war ended.

How can you tell if it's a WWI Doughboy helmet? That is a cool helmet by the way.

i picked one up
same liner and chin strap as in this thread , green underneather but outside is a red, primer collor
maybe navy helmet for crew below side or ordinace ?

i am brain dead to computer(learned on the old ibm key punch card system in the late 70s )and camera unless it is the type to hold a gunpowder for flash
