    Default rifle in the basement

IMG_00000350_hdr.jpgGood day, my father has had this rifle in the basement for quite some time now. He is wondering what it is. I have taken some photos and told him I would find a forum and see what information I could get on this rifle. Thanks for your help, it is definitely appreciated.IMG_00000349_hdr.jpg

It is a British Enfield that has been reworked into a hunting rifle.

Oh perfect thank you, so what all is original and what is not? Just so I can tell him when I go back there. My knowledge of rifles is very limited. His brother gave it to him, and it hasn't changed at all since it was received.

As a collector piece it's pretty much done in, but it is a nice sporter and great for hunting.

from that white piece of paper, the markings indicate it was a No.4 Mk.1 made by Fazackerley in 1943. after the war, it went through a Factory Thorough Repair. shame Bubba got ahold of it.

Ahh darn, well maybe it will just have to continue its service as a hunting rifle then. I'll let him know, thanks folks!
