    Default DOU 44

Hey folks, being new here I'll be posting some of the older military weapons
that I have accumulated over the years. No safe queens..I shoot em all.
I picked up this Mauser back in the late 80's and it is a good shooter. I've
never paid much attention before but I kinda wonder if this is worth very
much as the war time mauser's go. I'll post a few pics and would appreciate
it a great deal if someone would have any info. I only paid $150 IIRC about
    30 years. Rich

$150 was a lot more money than it is today... I'd say you didn't get a bargain at the time, but worth more today. The serial on the receiver is an importers addition, a dou/44 m-block would only be serialed on the barrel. Obviously a import of the period, but back then I was able to buy nice rifles for $300-400, but of course we (collectors) knew a lot less than today and it was easier to get screwed...
