    Back in the 60's, I remember encountering German rifles captured by the Russians, and every one had been taken apart and "re-stored" by the comrades, without any of the original parts present. Go figure..........They sold for about $100 Sepp44

    I seem to recall genuine German Mausers in a cardboard drum in the sporting goods section of sears for less than that, but I was quite young

    Best way to see for sure are the stamps. They are on the left side, sideways or vertical, at the left rear of the stock. Left elbow can cover it. I am only thinking of the Comrades and their actions during the war.
