Default WW2 British Bouncing Betty MkII

We often see the WW2 German Bouncing Betty ..but the British example is a hard one to find.
They produced a Mark 1 early in the War but ..the Mark II Anti-Personnel Mine was the main example they fielded.
I have included info from a fantastic reference Book written by David Gordon. If you’re into WW2 British gear , I suggest you look for his series as it’ s very well done.

As you can see ..these were very well made.
That makes me wonder how many are still buried out there ..and what shape they're in.
I asked one Vet why our guys rarely came home with any Bouncing Bettys ..they always grabbed a Teller Mine.
He told me the Tellers were much easier to empty out. And it was not easy to convince an EOD guy to play with any of the Bouncing examples. They'd let you know where you could find them and then tell you to go get one and empty it yourself.

During the war I'm sure many of our troops met "Bouncing Bettys" of a different type over there.

They also met some "Jiggling Judy's" with Jugs.
